Four Reasons Why Safety When Using Skateboards Is So Important
Seriously, shouldn't this be the most important thing on anyone's mind? It doesn't matter whether you're a parent or the teenager who has an affinity for skateboarding. Safety should always be the primary concern. Why? Well, how many limbs do you see that are for sale anywhere in the world? Point taken hopefully. It doesn't matter whether you're a pro skater or just one that finds it as an enjoyable hobby.
1. Having to sustain an injury would mean that you might not be able to work very well.
If you have an injury in one of your arms or legs, it might be quite inconvenient for you. You might not be able to perform your job quite well if you have to nurse an injury. Your work will definitely be interrupted. Things like driving, using the computer and all that will be affected by injuries through skateboarding. So the next time you step on that skateboard, make sure to have some safety gear on. It's not going to make you less cool; it's only going to make you a lot smarter. Definitely smarter than those who don't use safety gear.
2. If you break your bones, you're not going to be any better of a skater.
Having injuries from skateboarding isn't going to make you a veteran of this extreme sport. And it's definitely not going to allow you to be a lot better in skateboarding. Just like any other physically demanding sport, you're going to need all of your limbs in good working condition for you to pull off some neat tricks of your own. Breaking a bone would only mean that you're going to have to be sidelined for a few weeks. Sidelined means that you're not going to be noticed by scouts and you're definitely not going to refine your technique when you're sitting along the bleachers.
3. Be a good influence on other skaters.
If you're pretty good at skateboarding, chances are people will definitely look up to you. And if you're that good, you might even be idolized by a chosen few. If you have this much influence on a certain group of people, why not be an advocate for safety? One way for people to listen and take warnings seriously is to see someone that they admire and respect follow those same exact precautions. Soon enough, you're going to notice that people will be more conscious about safety and start to wear protective gear.
4. Seriously, it's for your own good.
The person that should be most concerned about safety when skateboarding should be you. Because really, the only person who would be affected the most by injuries would be you. You would get injured and you would have to endure the painful healing process. You would have to answer to your parents or your boss as to why you had that injury. And aside from that, you will have to hope for a miracle for your insurance to cover all the medical costs.
