Why You Should Have Spare Skateboard Parts Stocked At Home

If you are an avid skateboarder, you might find it quite normal to be replacing worn out parts every now and then. Just like any other thing like cars, boats or planes, skateboards also need some regular maintenance and parts replacement since wear and tear is unavoidable.

This problem can be taken care of in two ways: one, this can be taken care of by shops who specialize in repairing and replacing worn out skateboard parts. Now the problem here is that it might take awhile, and you don't really get to see how they fix things or what's really wrong with your board. Now for some people, this might be a problem since they would want to be on top of things at all times. Secondly, skateboard users like you can actually purchase the parts that you need for replacement so that you do all the repairs yourself. Stocking spare parts like bearings, wheels and maybe even some trucks would help you a lot for a lot of reasons.

1. Get your board out ready for use as soon as possible.

Having spare parts for your board at home would mean that once there are any damages or repairs needed for your board, you no longer have to wait for hours or possibly even days for a job shop to get to work on your board. One reason why repairs usually get delayed is because they need to wait on spare parts that could very well be out of stock. If you have your own bunch of parts stocked at home, you no longer need to wait on parts to arrive or be available. You don't even need to know how to fix your own board. You can still bring your board over to a shop together with your extra parts and have someone else that's qualified to fix it. With that all you need to pay for would be the labor.

2. When you think you need to change your trucks, bearings or wheels, you need not wait any longer.

Depending on the type of event you are in, some sizes of wheels and decks may be suited better for specific events. If you are such a skater that likes to skate in more than one area like verts or half pipes, having your own set of skateboard parts at home will allow you to do everything that you want given that you can easily switch from one set to another. If you want, you could even build another skateboard if you would like to use another deck.

3. Having spare parts at home is just a good idea.

Just like shops and stores, they keep a few important items in stock so that they wouldn't run out so easily when demand for it is quite high. If you notice that you frequently change your bearings or other skateboard parts, it's better to have them all ready at home so you no longer need to drop by your nearest skate shop to get the parts that you need.
